CENTRE FOR EYE RESEARCH
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The Centre for Eye Research at the Queensland University of Technology has
a vigorous program of research investigating human vision, the visual
requirements of the community and how its visual problems can be resolved
or alleviated. Research activities encompass the applied, clinical and
theoretical aspects of the visual and ophthalmic sciences and is
concentrated into 5 main areas.
- Characteristics of accommodation, ocular aberrations and retinal image
quality, the Stiles-Crawford effect
(Associate Professor David Atchison)
-
Visual optics and contact lenses
(Associate Professor Michael Collins)
-
Low vision assessment and mobility studies
(Associate Professor Jan
Lovie-Kitchin)
-
Mechanisms of eye growth , including both animal and human studies of
refractive error development
(Dr Katrina Schmid)
-
Visual performance and driving, particularly in the elderly
(Associate
Professor Joanne Wood)
The Centre is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research
within these areas of interest. The appointee will be located at the Kelvin
Grove campus of QUT. The appointment will be fixed term for two years.
