The Model 241S is a three meter spectrometer with an Eagle mount optical system - the entrance slit is fixed in position. The grating and exit slit (or spectrograph detector) rotate and translate for scanning of wavelength. The Eagle mount is available in "on" or "off plane" configuration, i. e., the entrance and exit slits are side by side or over and under the plane of the Rowland circle. The Eagle mount optical system distinguishes itself from the normal incidence monochromator systems with its large focal plane, which allows use of scanning assemblies for MCP/PDA/CCD detectors or spectrograph plates up to 10" (254mm) length.
