The Model 2252 is two meter version of the Model 225 spectrometer. The optical system is normal incidence, standard with 15 degrees included angle. Entrance and exit slits are fixed in position on the Rowland circle. The grating rotates and linearly translates as wavelength is scanned. The grating translation (which serves to compensate for changes of focal distance) is achieved automatically either by stepper/encoder systems or mechanically by a cam profile.
It is constructed of stainless steel. Options include dual grating turrets and directional beam fold back ports with beam diverter ports and 22 degree in-vacuo switchable grazing side mirrors. MCP/PDA or MCP/CCD detectors can be mounted to provide full spectrograph capabilities.
