The Model 272 is a versatile research grade instrument. This low cost, high efficiency spectrometer is usable in any attitude and has features of much larger instruments. Large, highly efficient optics assure maximum throughput. High precision bilaterally adjustable slits provide easy selectability of resolution and bandpass. The lapped lead screw provides accurate wavelength positioning and years of trouble free use.
In a basic laboratory configuration, the fiber optic can be mounted to the entrance slit enabling remote detection or to the exit slit for remote illumination. This fiber optic with adapter and lens assembly intercepts even the weakest signals encountered in fluorescence or photoluminescence work. The fiber optic adapter assures alignment to the slit assembly and the single optic contained in the spectrometer reduces losses otherwise incurred by additional surfaces.
The short focal length and fast aperture ratio aid in signal preservation. A PDA or CCD camera attached to the exit create a powerful spectrograph that can display remote events.
