Abstract
Absolute measurements of the magnetic-field-dependent nonresonant microwave absorption have been made in polycrystalline YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta / bulk samples. In low magnetic fields of several Oe the surface resistance at 9.4 GHz has the form of R=R/sub 0/+ beta H/sup 2/ where beta =(0.6-2)*10/sup -3/ Omega /Oe/sup 2/ at 4.2 K and (3-8)*10/sup -3/ Omega /Oe/sup 2/ at 77 K. These values agree rather well with calculations within the model of the effective Josephson medium. (22 References).
