Welcome to the Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma Science and Technology website

Word of the Conference Chair
APCPST8 started off rather slowly. In fact, by the time of the first deadline for registration, back in April 2006, we had a grand sum total of two (2)!!! Considering it judicious to extend the deadline, we proceeded into a sequence of extensions until there were at least 100 full registrations. Three weeks before the conference itself we had around 150 attending and then ordered the conference bags, programmes, T shirts and wine. We actually over ordered for 180 so there would be a surplus. On the day we started the conference there were about 174 registered but to our surprise another 35 or so registered at the conference so the grand total was a tad over 210 attendees (as far as we can estimate). We are very sorry to those who did not get a conference bag but that is the price of success. Thank you all for coming and making this conference the best we have had in Australia. We especially appreciated the poster sessions which were very well attended and many new collaborations started. In 2008 we will be in China and Prof Wu is the conference chair. APCPST8 wish him all the best!
