*****************
12.30-2.00 pm "Honour the Grief".
The Theatre, New Parliament House
A formal ceremony at which representatives of the ACT's institutions will
hand Sorry Books to members of the Stolen Generations, and respond to
the 'Bringing Them Home' report. It is a Parliamentary sitting day and
having a Sorry day ceremony in Federal Parliament is of tremendous
significance. This event will also be the focus of much media attention and
it would be good to have as much public presence as possible. (No
cost).
2.30 pm until late: "Commit to Healing".
Aboriginal Embassy, opposite Old Parliament House.
Coming home to the spirit of the Fire at the Aboriginal Embassy, a place of
healing. Finding a sense of belonging and committing to the struggle for
justice, peace and healing. Discussion leading to action. All welcome.
Please bring a plate of food.
6 pm: "Looking Forward Together".
Australian National University: Melville Hall, Cnr Ellery Cres & University
Avenue.
All welcome to participate in an inter-Faith gathering with an emphasis on
the Stolen Generations.
