hi ANTaR supporters, just a couple of things you may be interested in which
will be happening over this long weekend:
1. Sorry Books launch, 26th Jan.
=============================== Australians for Native Title are launching the "Sorry Books" on the 26th Jan in Sydney. Sorry Books will give ordinary Australians the chance to record their personal apologies fpr past wrongs done to Indigenous peoples, including the Stolen Generation and their families. People can simply sign their name and record a message. The launch will be in Sydney on the 26th Jan in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay. With the help pf ANTaR, the Sorry Books will then move around the country for a national collection of signatures so that the sum of individual expressions of apology might become a national apology. The Human Rights Commission is building the Sorry Books into its program for the National Sorry Day on May 26th. The books will be separately bound and use archival paper, and will be handed over as part of the launch. If you would like to run a Sorry Book campaign please let us know. We will be getting one here and making it available, but there is the option of getting more books if necessary.
