Hi, amazing supporters of native title!
The Sea of Hands/launch of co-existence platform was an incredible success.
A huge THANKYOU to everyone who contributed their time, energy and
committment. The number of people who came to volunteer was beyond our
wildest expectations - by 8.30 am there were 800 volunteers working on
setting up the SOH!!! The crowd at the lunchtime launch was similalry huge
- approximately 5000 people. We were clearly able to demonstrate an
extensive cross-section of support. and the excitement continues... ==o==o==o==o==o== DONT Howard float: Today (Wed) at 11.30 am DONT (Defenders of Native Title) from Melbourne will be circling Parliament House with a float of John Howard. It is impressively lifelike, and has him cutting up Australia with a knife and fork. He also has 10 legs, each one representing an element of the 10 point scam - racism, extingushmnet, uncertainty etc. It is really fantastic. If you can make it to Parliament House at that time you will not be disapointed!!!! ==o==o==o==o== Senate Gallery: ANTaR is strongly encouraging people to go the Senate Gallery during debate on the Bill. Last night (Tues) Senators Margetts, Collins, Harradine and Faulkner all gave good speeches, with Harradine, as expected, giving little away. There were lots of people in the gallery and it was great to be able to encourage and applaud decent arguments and laugh at the nonsensical mumble put forward by a WA government Senator who shall remain nameless. We'd like to maintain an obvious presence during the debates so try to come along. To find out debate times tomorrow ring 2777111.
