1) NEXT SEA OF HANDS MEETING: Wed 19th, at 6:30pm in the Studio Room, 1st Floor Griffin Centre, Bunda St Civic (the Studio Room is right up the Braddon end of the building). All welcome.

2) Sea of Hands update:

The SOH will be held on the lower lawn in between the two Parliament Houses. The main rally will be between 12 and 1.30 on Tuesday 25th. Some of the speakers attending include Sir Ronald Wilson, Camilla Cowley and Mick Dodson. We still need people to put up posters and distribute leaflets. The glossy posters are ready, as are a number of the ribbons which are available at the CAA office. We will also be getting some more of the very popular postcards by the end of the week.

3) Witnesses for Wik: public gallery presence

Witnesses for Wik!

Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation -ANTaR invites you to come along to the Parliament House public galleries on Tuesday 25 November through to Thursday 27 November. Come and show your support for native title and reconciliation in Australia by being a witness to the debates on the amendments to the Native Title Act. Get a group together and come along!

Senate Sittings:
The Senate will probably sit:
Monday 12.30pm - 11.00pm
Tuesday 2.00pm - 11.00pm
Wednesday 9.30am - 8.00pm
Thursday 9.30am - 6.00pm.
Question Time in the Senate is between 2.00pm and 3.00pm.

Dress code!
Wear clothes in the Aboriginal colours of red, yellow and black, or in the Torres Strait Island colours of green, blue and white to show your support. ANTaR also has Aboriginal ribbons or and 'Let's stick up for Wik' armbands available from the Community Aid Abroad Office in the Griffin Centre, Bunda St Civic. Alternatively, make your own ribbons: three strips of ribbon in red, yellow, black, put together, fold over at the middle, staple/sew together at the middle and pass a small safety pin through the loop.

Parking:
Underground car parking, open 24-hours a day, is available below the Parliament House public entrance area. Wheelchair parking and lifts from the carpark are available also. Wheelchair access and toilets are available throughout Parliament House including the Senate chamber.

4) Check out the new local ANTaR web site at:

The site is still under construction but is functional and should soon be linked up to other Antar web sites in Sydney and Brisbane.

5) One small truck and one ute are required for the day of the Sea of Hands on the 25th. Anyone who could make one available or knows of someone else who might please let us know asap. Thanks.
