TRANSMISSION MOUNT & CENTRE BEARING UPGRADE for 240 Turbo - by Anthony Hyde

Q. Tailshaft banging around during hard acceleration?
Its either your 240 gearbox transmission mount needs replacing, AND / OR your centre bearing donut is not up to the task.

240 transmission mount
For performance engines, an excellent option is a stiffer 164 B30 engine mount (in place of trans mount). On the mount, the hexagon shaped steel backing just needs a radius filed on one edge to match the profile on the 240 manual transmission crossmember. The mount is great and heavy duty, compared to the floppy 240 Trans mount .
